So how did the chicken cross the ocean?

I am adding these articles dealing with the big question of how the chicken became American in May.

These article were originally posted a few months ago, and they are based on what I knew at the time. Occasionally, as I reread these articles now, I add some clarifying comments in [] square brackets.
