Do your children leave your program ready for Kindergarten? This workshop supports early literacy development in six areas: book knowledge, phonological awareness, early writing, alphabet knowledge, print awareness and language. Activities alternate with information about what children who become fluent readers knew in preschool. Some of the activities include demonstrations of book readying techniques, using local newspapers and flyers with young children and developing a local alphabet book.
