The Dresden branch of the Canadian Cancer Society, consists of a small group of volunteers who organize the annual Dresden Cancer Fun Auction. All of the proceeds from the auction fund cancer research. Local & regional merchants, companies & individuals donate their products, merchandise & services. Gordon Hardy is the auction & donations chairman. Committee members include Cheryl Cameron, Rachel MacLeod (Canadian Cancer Society liaison), Linda Harris, Janice Paddick & Ken Richards. The auction just celebrated its 20th year & has grown a little each year, thanks to community support & all of the volunteers who assist with the auction. In celebration of our 20th anniversary we decided to stage “The Greatest Tractor Parade: FARMERS DRIVING OUT CANCER!” This a one-time event! All proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The parade committee organized by Ken Richards, includes Cheryl Cameron, Gordon Hardy, Linda Harris, Keith Jaques, Jamie McGrail, Rachel Macleod, Dave Northcott, Janice Paddick & Ron Swackhammer. |
