Kuno
Kuno vd Maerchenstrasse CD, CGC, TDI, 9 CH pts
July 16/95 - April 23/01
Kuno was our second Berner and our first Berner boy. He came from the Maerchenstrasse kennel in Germany, along with his brother Kasimir.
Kuno was a very athletic dog. He used to leap on and off the round bales of hay in the fields just for fun. He was very sound in build, with a beautiful front and rear. He had gorgeous movement, free and fluid. The only thing we faulted him on was to want a little more bulk all over. He sired the first 2 litters born here.
Obedience was easy with Kuno, he was happy to please. He was a fairly soft boy in training. We were just one point shy of his championship when we lost him. We had started draft training, which he enjoyed.
It was a traumatic time when we lost Kuno. He and our Golden boy Mac both died as the result of injuries received defending us from a pack of feral coy-dogs. This pack attacked several people over the next couple of months before they were finally shot.
Kuno had hips, elbows and shoulders OVC clear, eyes normal and heart checked by a cardiologist.
