Bree was our first Berner and formed the foundation of our lines. We bought her as a breeding prospect.... if we liked living with the breed well enough. Although we had been researching BMDs for quite some time, you never really know a breed until you live with them.

What a change from the Goldens. She taught us so much about the Berner personalities. She made us into more patient trainers, as the Berners need clearer instructions and shorter sessions than Goldens.

Bree disliked the show ring. She got some points, but never looked happy. We gave up on conformation and moved to obedience. Again, she knew all the exercises but wasn't thrilled about performing in the ring. We promised her that she wouldn't have to work after getting her CD.

She gave us 3 litters, all free whelped, and was an attentive mom. Bree was a mid sized girl, about 24" and 85 pounds. She was a beautiful mover, with a good front, rear and body. Her head, though acceptable, was not her strong point and she was a bit high in the rear.

We brought her out again as a veteran, just for one specialty. She had a great time. She loved all the attention. If only she had shown like that when she was younger.

Bree had hips, elbows and shoulders OVC clear, eyes last checked at nearly 11 years (normal) and heart checked by a cardiologist.
