Magma can provide your organization with full featured e-mail hosting services. Magma's e-mail architecture is highly scalable, redundant, and powerful.

All of your mailboxes will be setup under the domain name of your choice. For example, if you have the domain name company.com, you can have mailboxes with addresses such as sales@company.com, support@company.com, john.doe@company.com, etc. Each of these addresses is considered an "alias". There are no restrictions placed on what e-mail addresses you can use (within the limits of the globally recognized rules for e-mail addresses).

Magma's client portal provides you with the following functionality for managing your e-mail mailboxes and aliases:

• the ability to "alias" one or more e-mail addresses to individual mailboxes - ie, a single mailbox could receive e-mail for multiple e-mail addresses (aliases) of your choosing
• unlimited number of aliases pointing to your mailboxes; all aliases must point to internal, Magma supplied mailboxes
• up to five external alias mappings pointing to third party mailboxes; extra external aliases available for a low monthly fee
• the ability to add/modify/delete your e-mail "aliases" at any time
• the ability to define a "catch-all" alias to catch e-mail sent to misspelled or invalid e-mail address(es) at your domain
• the ability to define "auto-responders" which will automatically send a reply message to the message sender, with the option of delivering a copy of the original e-mail to whichever addresses you choose
• the ability to setup e-mail forwarding on an individual mailbox - this allows you to forward a copy of all messages coming into the mailbox to one or more other e-mail addresses, with the option to deliver a copy to the local mailbox
• the ability to setup e-mail vacationing on an individual mailbox - while enabled, each person who sends a message to the mailbox will receive an automated response of your choosing
• the ability for users on your account with the appropriate access level to reset passwords on other accounts (if required)
• free spam blocking on all mailboxes

Additional Features/Restrictions

• To download your e-mail messages, you will need to configure your e-mail client to "POP" the messages from the Magma mail server as required.
• You must configure your e-mail client to "delete messages from server after download" otherwise your mailbox will eventually become "full".
• Each mailbox is allocated 250 megabytes of storage space for temporary message storage.
• Magma also provides a simple, web-based "webmail" interface which you can use to quickly access your messages stored on Magma's mail server via a web-browser while travelling or when you are not at your normal e-mail program.

Multiple Domain Names

Some clients have multiple domain names which they want to receive e-mail for. For example, you might want to receive e-mail for both yourdomain.com and yourdomain.ca.

One option is to simply purchase a "Corporate Mailbox Package" (above) for each domain name. This will give you a separate group of mailboxes for each domain name.

If you would prefer to be able to receive e-mail for multiple domain names into a single group of mailboxes, then you should purchase a "Domain E-mail Routing" service for each extra domain name as described below.

Domain E-mail Routing Packages

Each "Domain E-mail Routing Package" allows you to define an unlimited number of internal aliases and up to five external aliases for one "extra" domain name. Extra external e-mail aliases are available for a low monthly fee.

Extra External E-mail Aliases

Some clients want to be able to redirect e-mail sent to a particular e-mail address under their domain name to one or more external e-mail addresses. For example, you have multiple Magma provided mailboxes, but one of your employees works in another country and prefers to "POP" his e-mail from a local mailserver. You can setup an "external alias" for this person so that e-mail sent to username@company.com will be forwarded to employee@country.com. In this case, Magma's mail servers will accept the e-mail messages first and then re-deliver them to the external address(es) defined by you. Note that Magma's "Small Business E-mail Routing Package", "Corporate Mailbox Package" and the "Domain E-mail Routing Package" all include five free external e-mail aliases.

Advanced SMTP Services

If you are running your own e-mail server, Magma can provide Backup SMTP and/or Disconnected SMTP services for you.

Magma will provide "Backup SMTP" and/or "Disconnected SMTP" services for you for one domain for free (if required) if you are purchasing a Virtual Web Server (VWS) or an "ISDN", "ADSL", "LAN Extension", or "T1" service from Magma.

If you are not purchasing one of the above listed services, or you require advanced SMTP services for additional domain names, you can purchase Magma's "SMTP Queueing" service as described below.
